A340 from Hi Fly equipped with innovative IFE
21 July 2016
Hi Fly presents a new and innovative inflight entertainment system (IFE), RAVE Centric, on board of one of its A340-300 aircraft.
This system, designed by Zodiac Inflight Innovations, offers passengers the best digital quality in audio and video contents on demand. Conceived according to a seat-centric concept, it allows each passenger to choose amongst all the available contents, in an autonomous manner, through a high-resolution touch screen embedded in each seat.
“The seat-centric concept implies that each screen works independently from the others and that all contents are stored locally. All of this contributes to a higher system reliability and guarantees a better entertainment experience on board to all passengers”, explains Rogério Correia, Hi Fly’s IFE Manager.
The capacitive touch screens, through which the passenger interacts with the system, are available in the sizes of 15.3 inches (business class) and 8.9 inches (economy class). RAVE Centric’s intuitive graphical user interface mirrors the common use of smartphones and tablets, with an app-based functionality. Each screen also includes an integrated USB port which can be used to power personal electronic devices during flight.
Hi Fly is an EU - OPS carrier, FAA approved, EASA and IOSA certified. The Group to which it belongs owns 20 aircraft, and half of them are operated by Hi Fly: A330´s and A340´s, exclusively available for wet lease worldwide. Wet leasing (supply of aircraft with crew, maintenance and insurance) is Hi Fly’s core and sole business, therefore unmatched operational expertise in this very specific field has been developed over several years of experience.
