Hi Fly in Virtual
09 June 2016
Hi Fly Virtual has the goal to recreate the operations of its real life congener in an online environment, through flight simulator programs for PC.
The project, created by a group of Portuguese virtual pilots, aims to provide flight enthusiasts with a close depiction of what being part of the real-world airline is actually like. For that, Hi Fly Virtual makes available to its pilots the same routes and flights operated by Hi Fly, and uses the same aircraft fleet – Airbus A321, A330 and A340 – painted with the colors of the real airline.
As it sustains a direct and frequent flow of communication with Hi Fly, the virtual airline is able to combine the simulation component with the one of role-playing, offering its pilots a learning experience enhanced by the realism and by the sense of community.
The integration of new pilots into Hi Fly Virtual’s team occurs through periodic recruitments announced on its website (www.hiflyvirtual.org). The virtual pilot candidates must have access to a computer with internet access, flight simulation software, and some basic aeronautical knowledge. After joining Hi Fly Virtual, the pilots gain access to its servers and respective content and become able to start accumulating flying hours and experience.
Hi Fly is an EU - OPS carrier, FAA approved, EASA and IOSA certified. The Group to which it belongs owns 20 aircraft, and half of them are operated by Hi Fly, exclusively available for wet lease worldwide. Wet leasing (supply of aircraft with crew, maintenance and insurance) is Hi Fly core and sole business, therefore unmatched operational expertise in this very specific field has been developed over several years of experience, under the leadership of Paulo Mirpuri.
