Hi Fly equips all its fleet with data link communication system
22 December 2015
Hi Fly has equipped its A321 fleet with FANS (Future Air Navigation System), which was already in use in the A330 and A340 fleets.
FANS is an avionics system that provides data link communication between pilot and Air Traffic Controller, replacing standard analog radio systems. By allowing communications trough data link, using preformatted and universal text messaging, FANS eliminates understanding difficulties caused by interferences or different accents.
Hi Fly is preparing its fleet with FANS in advance of Europe’s requirement for all aircraft be fitted with this system from 2020 onwards, thus proving the company’s determination in being at the technological forefront and providing cutting-edge solutions to its customers.
Hi Fly, chaired by Paulo Mirpuri, is an EU - OPS carrier, FAA approved, EASA and IOSA certified. The Group owns 20 aircraft, and half of them are operated by Hi Fly: A321´s (1 unit), A330´s (5 units) and A340´s (5 units), exclusively available for wet lease worldwide. Wet leasing (supply of aircraft with crew, maintenance and insurance) is Hi Fly core and sole business, therefore unmatched operational expertise in this very specific field has been developed over several years of experience.
