SÉRGIO BAGORROChief Financial Officer
With a Degree in Economics and Master’s Degree in International Economy from Évora University, Sérgio Bagorro is CFO and member of Hi Fly’s Board of Directors since 2006. He is aso Chief Executive Officer and CEO of the Group’s holding since 2013. In addition, Sérgio Barros is CFO of the Mirpuri Group which includes other companies in the Aviation sector, namely Airline, Catering and Maintenance. He is also member of the Board of Directors of the handling company – Safeport – in Cape Verde.
Previously, Sérgio Bagorro was General Manager at Law Firm “Miranda, Correia, Amendoeira & Associados” (July 2005 – September 2006), where his main responsibilities were in finance and office management, human resources management, IT management, strategic marketing and sales management.
Between September 1999 and January 2005 he was Vice-General Manager of Telepizza Portugal, and his main responsibilities included the finance area, the human resources area, the factory/purchase center, logistics and IT systems. He was also responsible for the resources contingency plan, for the elaboration of annual budgets and business plans and for the management control for stockholders and board of directors. In addition, Sérgio Bagorro also worked in consolidation accounting and prepared periodical Information for Spain Stock Market (Madrid).
Between May 1997 and September 1999, Sérgio Bagorro worked for Sabena – Swissair Group, and was also Vice-Chairman of IATA Portugal (Panel of IATA Airlines BSP operating in Portugal). In Sabena, he was the Financial Manager, where his main responsibilities included the management of funds, payments and banks; the treasury management; the control of export/import accounts; the credit card sale management; the control of main suppliers; the insurance and taxation; the payroll and working regulations; and the elaboration of annual budgets and business plans. Other functions involved contracts and control of BSP Sales (Bank Settlement Plan - Sales from Travel Agencies); the administration of systems and being a member in the company’s Qualiflyer Group Project Team, along with TAP Air Portugal, Swissair, Austrian Airlines and Lauda Air.
At PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PWC) Sérgio Bagorro was Senior Finance Consultant (January 1994 - April 1997), having been responsible for the Portuguese PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ contacts within PriceWaterhouseCoopers International Network. He was also responsible for corporate finance (merger and acquisitions) as well as for several projects in the following fields: valuations, project finance, merger and acquisitions, privatization projects, economic and financial feasibility studies.
Sérgio Bagorro was also a Finance Manager at Telecom Marconi Group and Marconi Holdings, where he started his career, in 1991.
